Breakfastandabed.com is a revolutionary BOOK DIRECT Website and a World-wide B&B Community DIRECTORY designed to Re-focus the Bed and Breakfast community and educate the public on what "real authentic B&Bs" are in contrast to vacation rentals.
This site is exclusively designed for properties that have breakfast available for guests! We prioritize "breakfast" because that is what we do best, and that's what sets us apart from hotel chains and vacation rentals!
Our properties will focus on unique accommodations and authentic, gourmet, keto, vegetarian, and organic breakfast experiences that will win the trust of current B&B customers , and attract and develop loyalty among a large pool of potential customers such as Millennials, which are the majority of U.S travelers, and Generation Z, the second largest category of U.S travelers.

The terms "BnB" and "Bed and Breakfast" have become convoluted and permanently intertwined with vacation rentals. Our industry needs a way to separate ourselves from the crowded market of vacation rentals and instruct the public on what a historic and conventional Bed and Breakfast really is. That's why we created Breakfastandabed.com because conventional B&Bs always serve breakfast, and that's where we place our emphasis!

- UNITE!: This new website will only be successful if we band together as an industry! Re-branding the name "Bed and Breakfast" to "Breakfast and a Bed" property will let the public know that you are a Real Bed and Breakfast. As we say, We are turning the Bed and Breakfast Industry "Sunny-side Up!"
- PRIDE: You may be telling yourself, "I'm doing just fine, and I don't need any help," but I say, "You definitely do because a majority of people think you are running a vacation rental!" More importantly, I bet you have lowered your rates to compete with the vacation rentals who have little or no overhead! Have I convinced you yet?
- ARROGANCE: Arrogance can stop us! Set all arrogance aside and take a lesson from Sears Roebuck, one of the oldest companies in the United States. If we join forces and let our customers know that they can find Real Bed and Breakfasts on Breakfastandabed.com, the bed and breakfast customer base can begin to shift. We can gradually make a change at the grass roots level, and help each other gain customers.

- FIRST: WE USE TABLE TENTS AND LOGO DISPLAYS TO LET YOUR CUSTOMERS KNOW WHERE THEY CAN FIND REAL B&BS! We have established a way to spread the word quickly! We have made a "Breakfastandabed.com table tent pdfs and display card pdfs." These are documents that you can printout on photo paper and display in your rooms. Also, you can display one on your B&B's information board. Let's let the world know that the B&B industry is alive and we are fighting back! - SECOND: WE CREATE A CUSTOMER LOYALTY PROGRAM: Keep them coming back by offering them Exclusive Customer Memberships (that are free). Not surprisingly, most innkeepers already give these types of benefits to all their guests. (since customer membership is free, I don't see why any guest would not sign up; can you?)
WE believe BreakfastandaBed.com guests should:
- receive a complimentary breakfast that will adjust to dietary needs.
- have the ability to add favorite B&B properties to their customer login.
- be offered an early Check-in by 30 MINUTES only if available.
- be offered a room upgrade on arrival only, and only if available.
- be allowed late checkout by 30 MINUTES only if available.
- extra goodies in the room; like fresh cookies, or something along those lines if available.
- receive a suggested $5 to $10 Discount on rooms if they call your B&B and book direct.
- Free tourist information discussion on where the best attractions are in the area.
- THIRD: WE RELIEVE CUSTOMER ANXIETY BY SIMPLY PLACING OUR COMMUNITY LOGO (Breakfastandabed.com Logo)ON ALL THE B&B's DIRECT BOOKING ENGINES: OTAs feed on customer anxiety. In fact, 85% of customers will not BOOK DIRECT because they don't trust small businesses with their credit card information. Even more, they are turned off by stringent Bed and Breakfast cancellation policies. Moreover, they do not want to be redirected from one website to another; it causes anxiety and insecurity when making reservations.
With a Logo on your website's booking engine, the customer is not as shocked when they arrive to BOOK DIRECT on your website. Hopefully, the customer will see the logo and understand that we are all under one organization, even though the page is not quite similar. Most B&Bs use ThinkRes, Evvio, Resnexus, or other channel managers to handle booking calendars and online reservations. - A NOTE TO OWNERS AND INNKEEPERS: Customers can be part of many different loyalty programs, Expedia, Select Registry, etc. Being a part of their networks cost you your hard earned money; In the united States, "Select Registry" costs a B&B $285 a month or more, BnBfinder and BBonline are in the $20 a month or more. Breakfastandabed.com is currently free, but we do ask you to become a member ($4.99 a month)to support the BOOK DIRECT MOVEMENT and help pay for Breakfastandabed.com advertising and website overhead. Together we can make a difference!
BREAKFASTANDABED.COM DOES NOT BOOK ROOMS OR MANAGE BOOKINGS!
- We do not book rooms or manage calendars; we simply"SUPPORT BOOK DIRECT!" and forward customers to your website's channel manager. There is a "BOOK NOW" button on your Breakfastandabed.com listing page that re-directs customers to your existing website where customers can directly book a room at your B&B.
- IF YOU DON'T HAVE A WEBSITE OR CHANNEL MANAGER, DON'T WORRY! We can refer you to someone to help you with that, or simply ask another community member which channel manager they use in our Instagram community "Breakfastandabed."

- Lack of Knowledge and dependency an the system: When you as an innkeeper try to get a reduced rate or discount from a vendor or service provider, they see you as simply one customer. If you walk away, they don't care! Imagine a 10,000 member B&B comunity negotiating with Trip Advisory or Expedia to reduce our commissions or fees? Additionally, you may not have the knowledge of how a system works and therefore get taken advantage of because you are a new innkeeper. United we are strong; individually, we are self centered and week!

If you're not on Instagram, it's a good sign that your behind in tech trends. So what are you doing to compensate? Most likely, you're letting someone else do your internet social media for you, or you simply think you can survive without it. Well, just think if someone wanted to own and operate a B&B without having running water, electricity, or indoor plumbing? Yes, you're not being on Instagram is that bad!
